Abstract

The objective of this research was to develop a 3 Self Instructional Model to enhance learning engagement of undergraduate students. The samples used in the research (collecting the need for model development) were 36 undergraduate students in the field of early childhood education at Bangkok Thonburi University enrolled in research courses for learning development in the second semester of the academic year 2021, which were selected by purposive sampling. The research instrument was the learning engagement of undergraduate students before using the model. There was a total of 3 parts: cognitive, emotional, and behavioral, with a total of 15 indicators and one open-ended question. Data were analyzed by Content Analysis, Mean and Standard Deviation.

The results of the research revealed that the development of teaching and learning model 3 Self has the principle of emphasizing that learners are involved in determining the learning management in the classroom and are responsible for their own learning, Manage learning that focuses on learners as the key and able to develop intellectual, emotional, and behavioral commitment of learners on their own for the most effective learning management with 5 steps: Step 1   Self – investigate, step 2 Self - set goal (interested), step 3 Strategic for learning, step 4 Show, and step 5 Self-reflection (reflection).
