Abstract

Chronic bullous disease of childhood (CBDC) is a rare chronic bullous disease with IgA-mediated, subepidermal vesiculobullous eruption that presents in both children and adults. The characteristic lesions are vesicles and tense serous bullae, distributed in the perineum and perioral region. CBDC can mimic severalvesiculobullous diseases such as dermatitis herpetiformis and other bullous dermatoses. Tissue biopsy with immunofluorescent stainsis considered the diagnostic gold standard. Treatment options include oral dapsone and sulfapyridine.
