Abstract

Vibratory angioedema (VA) is a rare form of physical urticaria characterized by itching and swelling within minutes at the site of skin after vibratory stimuli exposure. This disorder can be familial with an autosomal dominant pattern of inheritance1,2 or an acquired sporadic disease.3 Both of immediate and delayed forms of VA have been reported.4

Although most cases are work-related (such as those occurring in pneumatic hammer workers), there also have been reported cases from sports activities such as jogging, bicycling5 or even from using musical instruments.6,7 VA can also be found with other types of physical urticaria. We present two cases of this rare condition, which was precipitated by jogging.
