Abstract

Hydroa vacciniforme (HV) is a rare acquired photodermatosis, usually occur  in childhood. HV is characterized by photosensitivity and recurrent vesicles that heal with vacciniforme scarring. The pathogenesis of HV is unknown. HV patients have no abnormal laboratory result, so the diagnosis of HV is based on identifying the typical histological findings and using repetitive ultraviolet phototesting to reproduce the characteristic vesicles on a patient’s skin.1 The disease onset is usually in childhood and spontaneous resolution occurred by early adulthood. The persistence  of  HV until adulthood was unusual. Herein, we presented a case of HV in a 19-year-old female who was diagnosed with HV according to histopathology and ultraviolet phototesting.
