Abstract

Human hair would appear to be a vestigeal and nonfunctional part. The natural changes of the amount, texture, color are involved in psychological aspects. The basic scientific knowledge about alopecia and hypertrichosis, gray hair, hair coloring, hair waving and hair straightening are revised for the dermatologist to keep up with hair cosmetic industy.
