Twenty first century skills of nursing students at Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Ratchaburi

Abstract

This descriptive research aimed to study perception of the 21^st century skills among nursing students at Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Ratchaburi  and to compare  their  perception of the 21^st century skills among nursing students in different academic years.  A  sample  of 532 nursing students of academic year 2017, was purposively selected.  The research instrument was the questionnaire of the students’ perception on their 21^st century skills with Cronbach ^,s alpha coefficient 0.80.  Data were analyzed  using mean, standard deviation, and one-way ANOVA.  The findings indicated that students’ perceptions on the 21^st century skills were at the high level ( M = 3.872 - 4.384,  SD = 0.381 - 0.473). Their perception  in all  three domains of skills, were at the high level also including  learning and innovation  skills, information, media, and technology skills and life and career skills. There were differences in students’ perceptions on the 21^st century skills among the students in different academic years.  The 4^th year students had higher score than the 3^rd,  2^nd,  and 1^st year nursing students  at p< .001.    .
