Factors related to stress among nurse aids in the outpatient department at a tertiary hospital under the Department of Medical Services

Abstract
This research aimed to survey stress among nurse aids in the outpatient department at a tertiary hospital under the Department of Medical Services and factors related to stress. The sample of 87 nurse aids in the outpatient department at a tertiary hospital, was purposively selected. Research tools were questionnaires on demographic data, social support, working, and stress. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. Results indicated that nurse aids had stress at the normal level (M = 0.78, SD = 0.43). Social support had negative correlation with stress (r = -0.32, p < .01). The predictors of stress were social support, working including relationship with colleagues. They could explain the variance of stress 13.1 percent at p < .05.
