A model of child and adolescent clinical practicum in distance education system

Abstract

This qualitative research aimed to study a model of child and adolescent clinical practicum in distance education system in order to achieve the expected learning outcomes at the course and the program levels. Data collection conducted during September 2019 to February 2020. Ten key informants consisted of experts in distance nursing education and child and adolescent nursing. Purposive sampling was used. The data were collected via in-depth interviews based on interview questions created by the researchers.  Data were analyzed by content analysis. The results showed that a model of child and adolescent clinical practicum in distance education system composed of two sections: 1) preparation prior to nursing practicum design, and 2) learning design based on the nursing practicum model of Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University.
