Abstract

Platelet rich fibrin (PRF) is an autgenous biomaterial. PRF which was developed from platelet rich plasma (PRP), is considered as a second generation of the platelet concentrate and mainly used to promote the cell proliferation. PRF is consists of platelet and leukocyte attached to a fibrin matrix. It can serve as a resorbable membrane which entrapped and released the growth factors and cytokines to accelerate the wound healing process  in both hard and soft tissue. In recent times, it has been used various disciplines in dentistry, for example, oral and maxillofacial surgery, periodontology and endodontology, which mainly applies to stimulate the wound healing of the oral lesion and improves the prognosis of diseases.
