SELF-ESTEEM AND MENTAL HEALTH OF PREGNANT TEENAGERS

To study self-esteem and mental health of pregnant teenagers. It was a cross-sectional descriptive study. The sample comprised pregnant teenagers at Thammasat University Hospital. The first step was interview for gathering general personal data. The Thai General Health Questionnaire – 28 (Thai GHQ – 28) and the Rosenberg’s Self-Esteem Thai version were used to self report. The percentages were analyzed and presented the results. There were 130 female participants. The tendency of poor mental health was 11.54% of all. Low self-esteem in participants was found 7.69%, and normal self-esteem level was the most proportion (81.54%) The results support most of pregnant teenagers having normal mental health. And they also having normal self-esteem.
