Knowledge and Practice in Dental Health Care of Pre-school Children Caregivers in Nakhon Nayok Province.

Abstract
This research had the following objectives : 1) To study the knowledge and practice in dental health care of pre-school children caregivers and 2) To compare the knowledge and practice in dental health care of pre-school children caregivers found within the levels of education, work experience and training received. The population of the study were 136 of pre-school children caregivers in Nakhon Nayok Province. The data was then collected by questionnaires during June - July 2007 and the response rate was 75%. The data was analyzed by arithmetic mean, percentage, standard deviation and t-test. The research found the following: The level of knowledge in dental health care of pre-school children caregivers was moderate. The level of practice in dental health care of pre-school children caregivers was moderate. The comparison of the samples who had different levels of education revealed that the difference in the caregivers' knowledge and practice in dental health was not statistically significant. The comparison of the samples who had different levels of work experience revealed that the difference in the caregivers' knowledge and practice in dental health was not statistically
nificant. The comparison of the samples who had different levels of training received revealed that the difference in the caregivers' knowledge in dental health was statistically significant, but was not statistically significant for practice.
