แนวความคิดและกระบวนแบบในศิลปะมินิมอลอาร์ตที่ได้รับอิทธิพลจากปรัชญาเซน

Abstract

            การศึกษาอิทธิพลทางความคิดและรูปแบบศิลปะในลัทธิมินิมอลอาร์ต ที่ได้รับจากปรัชญาเซน เป็นการศึกษาอิทธิพลปรัชญาเซนว่าส่งผลต่อแนวคิด และการพัฒนารูปแบบของศิลปินมินิมอลอาร์ตอย่างไร โดยคัดเลือกศิลปินที่มีรูปแบบงาน และแนวความคิด สอดคล้องกับปรัชญาเซน จำนวน 5 คน ได้แก่ คาร์ล อังเดร (Carl Andre) ริชาร์ด เซอร์ร่า (Richard Serra) โรเบิร์ต มอร์ริส (Robert Morris) โดนัลด์ จัดด์ (Donald Judd) และวอลเตอร์ เดอ มาเรีย (Walter De Maria)

            เป็นวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพและนำมาวิเคราะห์เชิงพรรณนาประกอบกับผลงานศิลปะในจำนวนคนละ5 ชิ้น โดยการหาความสอดคล้องและวิเคราะห์อิทธิพลจากปรัชญาเซนที่มีต่อศิลปะมินิมอลอาร์ตการวิจัยในครั้งนี้ผู้วิจัยได้คัดเลือกศิลปินที่มีความโดดเด่นในชั้นเชิงรูปแบบและแนวคิด ที่มีลักษณะสอดคล้องกับปรัชญาเซนหรือได้รับอิทธิผลจากปรัชญาเซน โดยการสืบค้นจากตำรา เอกสาร บทสัมภาษณ์ และรูปแบบของผลงานศิลปะซึ่งจากการวิจัยทำให้ทราบถึงลักษณะศิลปะมินิมอลอาร์ตนั้นมีความสอดคล้องหลายประการกับปรัชญาเซน ทั้งในส่วนของการเน้นความเรียบง่ายขจัดการตกแต่ง เน้นความเป็นนามธรรมไม่ต้องการแสดงรูปลักษณ์ เน้นการสลายการเป็นผู้สร้าง เรียกร้องการใช้ผัสสะจากผู้ชมมากกว่าการเข้าใจเชิงเหตุผล เน้นการซ้ำของวัตถุเพื่อให้เกิดสมาธิ และให้ความสำคัญกับทุกส่วนอย่างเท่าเทียมมากกว่าการให้ชิ้นหนึ่งชิ้นใดโดดเด่นขึ้นมา ซึ่งในส่วนแนวคิดของศิลปินทั้ง 5 คนนั้นยังมีความสอดคล้องในหลายแง่มุมกับปรัชญาเซนซึ่งแตกต่างกันไปตามแต่ละศิลปินจะตีความหรือปรับใช้ปรัชญาเซนกับผลงานของตน แต่ที่เห็นมีจุดรวมที่สำคัญคือการพยายามทำให้วัตถุมีลักษณะที่ต้องใช้การพิจารณาไตร่ตรอง ใช้เวลาในการชมอย่างเอาใจใส่ เพื่อให้สมาธิเกิดขึ้นกับผู้ชม

            จากการผสมผสานของปรัชญาเซนกับศิลปะมินิมอลอาร์ตทำให้เกิดการต่อยอดจากแนวคิดที่เกิดขึ้นใหม่ ก่อให้เกิดศิลปะแนวใหม่ขึ้นมาอย่างหลากหลาย เช่น คอนเซปชวลอาร์ต แลนด์อาร์ต อินสตอเลชั่นอาร์ต เป็นต้น เหล่านี้ล้วนเป็นผลผลิตจากการผสมผสานกระทั้งศิลปะหลุดพ้นจากความเป็นสมัยใหม่ สู่หลังสมัยใหม่

           The objective of the study of the influence of Zen philosophy on concept and style of minimal art is to study of how Zen philosophy influences the concept and the development of minimal art. 5 artists being selected based on artwork and concept related to Zen philosophy, that is Carl Andre, Richard Serra, Robert Morris, Donald Judd and Walter De Maria.

            In this qualitative research, descriptive analysis is used to analyze 5 list of artworks by each artist to find the consistency of Zen philosophy influences on minimal art. According to Zen philosophy, the sample of this research consists of 5 artists with outstanding concept and style are derived from monograph, periodicals, interviews and style of artworks. It is important to realize that there are several styles of minimal art is consistency with Zen philosophy. For example, the simple and minimalist style, an abstract with less visual interest, an ability to break down their logo creator, viewer's sensation, repeating elements and giving equal attention to all parts rather than any one part of it stand out, those styles are added to the design.The artworks of 5 artists differ through the Zen philosophical concepts. Importantly, the concept is try to use a minimal expression of elements, which requires contemplation, slowing down and taking the time to see the details in order to helps viewers to maintain their concentration.

            The design approach to combine Zen philosophy with minimal art providing the opportunity to further develop into a new style of art, such as conceptual art, land art, installation art, etc. These artistic production combine elements of both modern art and postmodern art.
