วิวัฒนาการเชิงอัตลักษณ์ในย่านนิมมานเหมินท์

Abstract

               ย่านนิมมานเหมินท์เป็นย่านที่มีความสำคัญทางเศรษฐกิจของจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ ตั้งอยู่อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ ถนนนิมมานเหมินท์เกิดขึ้นโดยการบริจาคจากตระกูลนิมมานเหมินท์ เกิดจากการจัดสรรที่ดินบนพื้นที่ว่างเปล่าและผู้ครอบครองในยุคแรกนั้นเป็นกลุ่มข้าราชการ บุคลากรของมหาวิทยาลัย ส่งผลให้รูปแบบของงานสถาปัตยกรรมของย่านในยุคนั้นแตกต่างจากพื้นที่อื่นๆ การศึกษาเรื่องวิวัฒนาการเชิงอัตลักษณ์ในย่านนิมมานเหมินท์ เป็นการศึกษาอัตลักษณ์เมืองและชุมชนในด้านกายภาพ สังคม และเศรษฐกิจ โดยศึกษาถึงหลักการ แนวคิดอัตลักษณ์ของเมืองและชุมชน และปัจจัยที่ส่งผลให้เกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลงของอัตลักษณ์เมืองและชุมชนย่านนิมมานเหมินท์ เพื่อทำความเข้าใจและเสนอแนะถึงแนวทางเบื้องต้นในการรักษาอัตลักษณ์ของเมือง

               การวิจัยพบว่า การเปลี่ยนแปลงของอัตลักษณ์เมืองและชุมชนในย่านนิมมานเหมินท์ซึ่งมีวิวัฒนาการอย่างรวดเร็วนั้นเกิดจากปัจจัยหลายด้านและเป็นไปตามช่วงเวลาต่างๆ คือ อัตลักษณ์ความเป็นย่านที่พักอาศัย (High-end Residential) โดยเป็นผลจากรูปแบบของที่พักอาศัยที่ได้รับการออกแบบในสไตล์โมเดิร์น จากกลุ่มผู้อยู่อาศัยที่จบการศึกษาระดับสูงและมีฐานะ อัตลักษณ์ความเป็นย่านฮิป- ศิลปะ (Artistic) ที่ได้เกิดขึ้นในยุคถัดมาจากการรวมตัวของคนในชุมชนและการริเริ่มกิจกรรมงานแน็ป (NAP) เพื่อดึงดูดนักท่องเที่ยวในช่วงเวลาที่ประเทศประสบปัญหาทางเศรษฐกิจ และอัตลักษณ์ของความเป็นย่านสากลแบบผสมผสาน (Global Mixed) ในปัจจุบัน จากความเจริญทางเศรษฐกิจ การลงทุน และความต้องการที่หลากหลายของกลุ่มผู้ใช้งานใหม่ๆ ผลจากการศึกษาแสดงให้เห็นถึงวิวัฒนาการในย่านนิมมานเหมินท์และวิเคราะห์ถึงปัจจัยต่างๆที่ส่งผลต่ออัตลักษณ์เมือง ซึ่งเป็นพื้นฐานต่อการทำความเข้าใจในความเป็นเมือง ตลอดจนประเด็นสำคัญต่อการอนุรักษ์ลักษณะเฉพาะที่มีคุณค่าเหล่านั้น โดยเป็นประโยชน์ทั้งต่อการพัฒนาและอนุรักษ์ย่านนิมมานเหมินท์ และพื้นที่อื่นที่มีลักษณะเดียวกัน

             Nimmanhemin district is an important economic area of ​​Chiang Mai, located in Muang District, Chiang Mai. Nimmanhemin road was built by donation from the Nimmanhemin family. Neighborhoods are the result of the allocation of land on empty land, and the early occupants are civil servants. University personnel as a result, the style of architecture of the area in that era is different from other areas. The analysis of the evolution of identity in Nimmanhemin, Chiang Mai is a study of urban and community identities of the district in terms of physical and social economy. By considering principles and concepts of urban and communal character; along with the transition of identity in Nimmanhemin. In order to find alternatives to maintain and recover the originality of this community, The approaches are including the information collected on both online and offline data, observations, questionnaires, and interviews with local academics.

              Based on this research, changes in urban and community identities of the fast-growing Nimmanhemin is caused by several factors. Researcher has divided into 3 phases; the first stage is the initial group of educated people who are influential (High-end Residential). Resulting in the style of the area which was designed during that time. Later on, economic problems have occurred to cause the unification of community members who formed the NAP (Artistic) events and that is the moment that began to attract tourists, and the next time phase (Global Mixed). The analysis of the evolution of identity in Nimmanhemin study result demonstrate the evolution of Nimmanhemin road, identifying factors that affect the city identity, which is the fundamental step in understanding the city, along with issues that pertain to conservation of valuable characteristic. This study will provide benefits to the development and conservation of Nimmanhemin area and other comparable area.
