Abstract

               “Design Thinking Process” has been identified as the process of developing business in these few years. Therefore, the number of need to know how to use is continuously increasing when the communities are looking for ways to recreate their modern and new stylish products. This paper describes step-by-step of applying 5 stages in “Design Thinking Process” as a tool for creating a prototype bag from Tai-lue handwoven fabric remnants of Baan Hia community, Pua District, Nan province. To begin with the first stage, the researcher studied related documents and used in-depth interview for collecting background information. Then the final stage, 5 prototypes were created and evaluated based on specialists.   


               The result found that the prototype bag with the highest score of 4.08 from the specialists’ evaluation, suits the potential of people in the community the most as the thinking process of creating this prototype can be pursued easily and understood. Thus, applying “Design Thinking Process” as a tool for creating a prototype bag is systematic and useful for people in the community. They can also use it as the guideline for further development to increase their efficiency themselves in designing new products. This tool will result in community’s sustainable business growth in the future.
