Transformational Leadership and Organizational Citizenship Behavior: Testing the Mediating Role of Organizational Justice
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objective of this study is to investigate the mediating role of perceived organizational justice in the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational citizenship behavior of government employees in the three Southern border provinces of Thailand. Two hundred and thirty-seven (237) subjects were selected from each province using stratified sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire to measure three variables consisting of organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), perceived organizational justice (POJ), and transformational leadership (TFL). The study found that the transformational leadership variable did not directly affect organizational citizenship behavior; however, it indirectly affected it through perceived organizational justice (POJ) with statistical significance. This indicated that the perceived organizational justice variable played a role of complete mediation between the transformational leadership variable and organizational citizenship behavior variable.
