เจ้าพ่อประตูผา: จากความเชื่อและพิธีกรรมสู่บทบาทสำคัญในชุมชนลำปาง (Chao Phor Pra tu pha: From beliefs and rites to significant roles in Lampang community)

Abstract

               การวิจัยนี้ มีจุดประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาบทบาทหน้าที่ของเจ้าพ่อประตูผาในบริบททางสังคมของชาวชุมชนลำปาง ด้วยวิธีการศึกษาทางคติชนวิทยา โดยศึกษาข้อมูลลายลักษณ์จากเอกสารและข้อมูลมุขปาฐะจากการปฏิบัติงานภาคสนามในชุมชนลำปาง จากนั้นนำมาวิเคราะห์ตามแนวคิดทฤษฎีหน้าที่นิยมแล้วนำเสนอผลการศึกษาแบบพรรณนาวิเคราะห์

               ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ชาวชุมชนลำปางมีความเคารพและศรัทธาเจ้าพ่อประตูผาในฐานะวีรบุรุษและ   สิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ โดยรับรู้ผ่านความเชื่อที่สืบทอดต่อกันมาผสานกับตำนานแห่งวีรกรรมและความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ที่บรรพบุรุษและหน่วยงานของรัฐสร้างขึ้น เจ้าพ่อประตูผาจึงมีบทบาทสำคัญต่อชาวชุมชนลำปางใน 5 ลักษณะคือ  1. บทบาทในฐานะการสร้างประวัติศาสตร์ท้องถิ่น  2. บทบาทในการแสดงสถานะความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ 3. บทบาทในการแสดงความเป็นอัตลักษณ์ของชุมชน  4. บทบาทในการสร้างสำนึกร่วมและความสามัคคีในกลุ่มชน และ 5. บทบาทในฐานะสัญลักษณ์ของความรักชาติและความกล้าหาญ

               The study aims to study the significant roles of Chao pho pra tu pha in the cultural context in Lampang community. The folklore methodology; functionalism, is applied to analyze the written and oral data collected from Lampang community. The findings are presented by descriptive study.

               The results show that Chao pho pra tu pha is regarded as one of the heroes and the goddesses for Lampang community. This belief is transmitted from generation to generation through the hero legendary story and annually municipal activities in the local area. The  5 significant roles of Chao pho pra tu pha are found as followings: 1. As the historical source of the local area  2. As the center of spiritual belief  3. As the unique identity of the local area   4. As the main highlight in strengthening strong relationship among the community 5. As the patriotic symbol and bravery for the community.
