Abstract

              การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาองค์ประกอบดนตรีล้านนาและองค์ประกอบดนตรีแจ๊สที่สร้างแรงบันดาลใจให้กับผู้วิจัยนำมาใช้ในงานวิจัยสร้างสรรค์ ศึกษากระบวนการในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน ในประเด็นการวิเคราะห์ทางทฤษฎีดนตรีที่อธิบายแนวคิดการผสมผสานองค์ประกอบดนตรีล้านนากับองค์ประกอบดนตรีแจ๊ส และศึกษากระบวนการในการแสดงดนตรี ตั้งแต่การเตรียมการฝึกซ้อมวง การแสดงสด การบันทึกเสียง  และเทคนิคการบรรเลงอัลโตแซกโซโฟนในลักษณะด้นสดของผู้วิจัย โดยผู้วิจัยได้คัดเลือกบทเพลง“น้อยใจยา” และ “เสเลเมา” ที่ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากอัลบั้ม“โฟล์คซองคำเมือง อมตะ” พ.ศ.2520 โดย จรัล มโนเพ็ชร ผู้วิจัยได้นำบทเพลง “น้อยใจยา” และ “เสเลเมา” มาเรียบเรียงใหม่ให้เรียงร้อยต่อเชื่อมกันในรูปแบบเพลงผสม (Medley) บรรเลงโดยวงเดอะ พาเมโล ทาวน์ (The Pomelo Town) เป็นวงดนตรีแจ๊ส สี่ชิ้น (Jazz Quartet) ได้แก่ อัลโตแซกโซโฟน เปียโน ดับเบิลเบส และกลองชุด ซึ่งผู้วิจัยประสงค์ที่จะใช้เครื่องดนตรีแจ๊ส มาตรฐาน แต่บรรเลงด้วยสำเนียงดนตรีพื้นบ้านภาคเหนือผสมกับภาษาของดนตรีแจ๊ส โดยการนำกระสวนจังหวะของกลองตึ่งนง มาประยุกต์กับกลองชุดและดับเบิลเบสในท่อนบทนำ ของเพลง “น้อยใจยา” การนำทำนองหลักการแปรทำนองในเพลง“น้อยใจยา” จากอัลบั้ม“โฟล์คซองคำเมือง อมตะ” โดย จรัล มโนเพ็ชร และนำลีลาการประดับประดาทำนองของปี่จุม มาประยุกต์กับอัลโตแซกโซโฟน การใช้รูปแบบโมดาลแจ๊ส (Modal Jazz) ในเพลง "เสเลเมา" การใช้เทคนิครูปแบบโมดเปลี่ยนระนาบ (Modal Planing) ในท่อนด้นสด (Improvisation)  โดยอัลโตแซกโซโฟน และใช้เทคนิค รูปแบบทางเดินโมด (Modal Progressions) ในท่อนด้นสดอิสระ (Free Improvisation) โดยเปียโนและอัลโตแซกโซโฟน บรรเลงเป็นรูปแบบของดนตรีฟรีแจ๊ส (Free Jazz)


               วงเดอะพาเมโล ทาวน์ ได้นำบทเพลง "น้อยใจยา/เสเลเมา" ที่ได้เรียบเรียงขึ้นใหม่ ออกแสดงสดครั้งแรกในงานเทศกาลดนตรี Corfu Festival - Ionian Concert 09 ณ เมืองคอร์ฟู ประเทศกรีซ วันที่ 19 และ 22 มิถุนายน พ.ศ.2552 ต่อมาได้นำบทเพลง "น้อยใจยา/เสเลเมา" ออกแสดงอีกหลายครั้งในเทศกาลดนตรีแจ๊สระดับชาติและนานาชาติ และได้นำมาบันทึกเสียง ในอัลบั้ม Passage to the Origin ออกเผยแพร่ในปี พ.ศ. 2555


 


               This creative research aimed at studying the Lanna music elements and Jazz music elements that inspired the researcher, studying the process of creativity, a theoretical analysis which was about the combination of Lanna and Jazz music elements, and studying performance issues starting from the rehearsal, live performance, recording, and improvisation techniques in playing the alto saxophone of the researcher. The researcher selected “Noi Chaiya” and “Selemao” in which the inspiration came from the “Kham Muang Folk Song Amata” album released in 1977, composed by Jaran Manohpetch. The researcher rearranged the melody “Noi Chaiya”and then “Selemao” in the form of a medley, performed by The Pomelo Town, which is a Jazz quartet comprising alto saxophone, piano, double bass, and drums. The researcher intended to use Jazz musical instruments to perform Northern folk songs in combination with the associated language and music by adapting the Tueng Nong rhythmic patterns with the jazz drums and double bass on the intro of “Noi Chaiya” From the adaptation of “Noi Chaiya” from the “Kham Muang Folk Song Amata” album by Jaran Manohpetch and embellish the melody in Pi Jum style with an alto saxophone and the use of modal jazz for “Selemao” using modal planing and improvisation with the alto saxophone, as well as modal progressions for free improvisation by piano and alto saxophone, the song was performed as free jazz format.


               The Pomelo Town performed “Noi Chaiya/Selemao” in the Corfu Festival - Ionian Concert 09 at Corfu, Greece on 19 and 22 June, 2009. Later, the medley was performed several times in national and international Jazz music festivals. Then, it was recorded in the Passage to the Origin album and released in the year 2012.
