จากวัฒนธรรมกราฟฟิตีสู่งานสตรีทอาร์ตในประเทศไทย

Abstract

            การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาวัฒนธรรมกราฟฟิตี(Graffiti)ทั้งในด้านรูปแบบลักษณะเฉพาะ และบริบททางสังคมที่ส่งอิทธิพลเข้าสู่งานสตรีทอาร์ต (Street Art) ในประเทศไทย โดยทำการศึกษาเพื่อหาข้อสังเกตระหว่างวัฒนธรรมจากต่างประเทศและวัฒนธรรมกราฟฟิตีในประเทศไทยที่ส่งผลต่องานสตรีทอาร์ต

            ใช้วิธีการศึกษาจากเอกสาร หนังสือต่างประเทศ ประกอบกับการสัมภาษณ์ศิลปินกราฟฟิตีและศิลปินสตรีทอาร์ตที่มีชื่อเสียงในประเทศไทย และนำข้อมูลที่ได้จากทั้งสองแหล่งมาวิเคราะห์ประกอบกับการตั้งข้อสังเกตของผู้วิจัย และจึงนำข้อมูลทั้งหมดมารวบรวมและสรุปแนวความคิด

             จากการศึกษาทำให้เห็นถึงการรับอิทธิพลกราฟฟิตีในต่างประเทศเข้าสู่รูปแบบของสตรีทอาร์ตในเมืองไทยที่แตกต่าง สตรีทอาร์ตในต่างประเทศเกิดจากการหล่อหลอมของวัฒนธรรมของฮิพฮอพ (Hip-Hop culture) มาอย่างยาวนาน กราฟฟิตีเป็นหนึ่งในวัฒนธรรมฮิพฮอพ เรื่องราวที่ท้าทายกฎหมาย การขีดเขียนตามที่สาธารณะเพื่อตอบโต้สังคมของชาวผิวสีในอเมริกา กราฟฟิตีคือวัฒนธรรมที่เป็นทั้งงานศิลปะและเป็นขบถในเวลาเดียวกัน กราฟฟิตีในประเทศไทยถูกรับเอาวัฒนธรรมการทำงานที่ท้าทายกฎหมายและรูปแบบมาใช้ แต่เมื่อพัฒนาเข้าสู่สตรีทอาร์ตได้ลดความรุนแรงลงไป โดยหยิบยืมรูปแบบการทำงานในที่สาธารณะมาใช้เพียงเท่านั้น ศิลปินมุ่งไปที่การทำงานเพื่อศิลปะมากกว่าวิถีการทำงานนอกกฎหมาย

              สตรีทอาร์ตในประเทศไทยมีลักษณะเฉพาะตัว ศิลปินที่ทำสตรีทอาร์ตโดยส่วนใหญ่ก้าวข้ามมาจากการทำงานในหลายแขนง ไม่ว่าจะเป็นกราฟิกดีไซน์ จิตรกรรม หรือการพัฒนารูปแบบต่อมาจากศิลปินกราฟฟิตี ศิลปินบางคนทำงานสตรีทอาร์ตโดยเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการทำงานเท่านั้น มีศิลปินเพียงไม่กี่คนที่ดำเนินแนวทางเป็นศิลปินสตรีทอาร์ตอย่างเต็มตัว งานสตรีทอาร์ตไทยจึงมีความหลากหลายทางด้านรูปแบบ จุดยืนของศิลปิน และการจำกัดความ รูปแบบของสตรีทอาร์ตไทยจึงเป็นรูปแบบที่มีความน่าสนใจ และเปิดกว้างสำหรับศิลปินที่สนใจจะเข้ามาทำงานในลักษณะนี้ อีกทั้งยังได้มุมมองที่หลากหลายและผลงานที่ตกผลึกจากศิลปินที่ทำงานมาอย่างยาวนานในสาขาต่างๆ

           This study had a purpose to investigate the Graffiti Culture in terms of forms, characteristics, and social context that influenced and led into Street Art in Thailand. The study was conducted on an investigation the influences between foreign Graffiti Culture and Thai Graffiti which influenced Street Art in Thailand.

           Data were collected from related documents, foreign books, and interviews with famous Thai Graffiti artists and Street artists. Then brought the collected data to an analysis with the notices of the researcher himself. Analyzed data were collected, and concluded into ideas.

            According to the investigation, it revealed the different ways to come the influential foreign Graffiti Culture to Thai Street Art. Foreign Street Art had been forged by Hip-Hop culture for a long time. Graffiti was a part of Hip-Hop culture. It was the story of to challenge against law, to write and paint on the public properties and places in order to oppose the society by African-American people in the United State. Graffiti was art and rebellion at once. Graffiti in Thailand brought forms and ideas of challenging against law into usage. However, its violation was decreased into only the form of working in public. The artists focused on working for art sake than the unlawful ways.

            Thai Street Art has its own identity. Most Street Art artists had either crossed over from the various artwork kinds, such as graphic designing, painting or develop their specialties from Graffiti Art. Some artists worked on Street Art works as only a part of their whole work. There were only a few artists who fully worked on Street Art. Therefore, Thai Street Art works had the variety of forms, artists’ standpoints, and definitions. As these reasons, Thai Street Art became very interesting, and widely opened for artists who were interested in. Moreover, they would see various crystalized visions and works from many artists who had worked in this kind of art for a long time.
