ศาสนาพราหมณ์ในเขมรสมัยก่อนเมืองพระนคร

Abstract

           บทความวิชาการนี้ ศึกษาศาสนาพราหมณ์ในเขมรสมัยก่อนเมืองพระนคร ในช่วงคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 6-9 (พุทธศตวรรษที่ 11 -14) โดยอาศัยหลักฐานทางประวัติศาสตร์และโบราณคดีที่ปรากฏ

           ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ศาสนาพราหมณ์ในเขมรสมัยก่อนเมืองพระนครแบ่งได้ออกเป็น 2 นิกาย คือ ลัทธิไศวนิกายและลัทธิไวษณพนิกาย สะท้อนออกมาในรูปแบบของจารึก ซึ่งมีการกล่าวสรรเสริญพระอิศวรและพระนารายณ์  รวมทั้งมีประติมากรรมรูปเคารพ

           This academic article attempted to trace on Brahmanism in Pre – Angkorian Cambodia between 6^th -9^thCentury (11^th – 14^th Buddhist Century) from historical and archeological sources which belonged to those periods.

           The study revealed that two different sects of Brahmanism found in Pre – Angkorian Cambodia Period were Shaivism and Vaishnavism which reflected in form of inscriptions related to icon worship hymns on Shiva and Narayana as well as in form of sculpture.
