Main Article Content
Abstract
Over the past three decades, there has been a massive acceleration of research in molecular genetics and cancer biology which has revolutionized our understanding of cancer. Cancer arises as a result of genetic and epigenetic alteration. Molecular influence around the cancer cells also contributes to the capacity of genetically altered cells to produce malignant tumors. An understanding of the molecular basis of cancer can contribute to develop treatments specific for each cancer at different stages. This textbook provides excellent details to describe the scientific basis that will provide clinicians and other professionals who manage cancer patients to better understand the disease and its therapy.
