Instruction for Authors

              Authors interested in submitting to the Health Workforce Education Journal should read and follow the Instruction for Authors carefully to ensure a rapid and efficient review process. The editorial office reserves the right to return manuscripts that are not prepared according to these instructions.

                All documents should be submitted via the online submission system at https://he02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/hwej/about/submissions Authors need to register with the journal prior to submitting or, if already registered, can simply log in and begin the five-step process.

Instruction

• All manuscripts sent for consideration must contain original material that has not been submitted for publication nor has been previously published This should be clearly certified in an accompanying cover letter.
• Where possible, authors should also include a list of three or more potential reviewers for their manuscript, with contact information.
• There are no page charges for submission or publication.
• Health Workforce Educ J requires the copy of Ethics approval of research. For original articles and case report, details of ethical approval should be stated in Materials and Methods section.
• Language proof
  Grammar, spelling and accuracy are considered as the requisite screening criterion. If your manuscript contains errors, it will be returned. Non-English speaking authors are encouraged to have their manuscript checked and edited by a native-English speaker.

Review Process

           Authors must follow the Instruction for Author, complete the manuscript form and submit documents via the online submission system at https://he02.tci-thaijo.org/index.php/ hwej. Once submitted, the manuscript will be sent for screening and consideration. Once submitted, the manuscript will be sent for screening and consideration. The notice of acceptance or rejection for reviewing will be notified.

           After acceptance noticing, the manuscript will be forward for review by 3 reviewers selected by section editors. The author may be asked to revise your draft, or parts of your draft, provide additional information and make any other necessary changes according to the reviewers’ comments, suggestions and language proof. The edited manuscript and will be re-submitted via the online system. The edited manuscript will be considered and proved. The author will receive a formal Notice of Acceptance, after the final manuscript is approved. The approved manuscript will be sent for technical formatting and online publication preparation and will be sent to the author for final approving. The author also be asked to accept the Copyright Agreement.

Type of article

1. Invited article: These are invited by the editor-in-chief of Health Workforce Educ J and should be written in Selected editorials should not be less than 1,000 words but not exceed 1,500 words in total.
2. Original article: The manuscripts are reports of an original research in basic and clinical sciences that contribute new knowledge to the Full reports should include the following sections: Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgement, Funding sources and Conflict of interest. The length should not exceed 3,500 words, with no more than 250 words in the abstract, 8 tables and/or illustrations and limited to 40 references.
3. Review article: The manuscripts provide a critical review and summary of current knowledge from a published literatures or textbooks and highlight recent developments on the The length should not exceed 4,000 words, with no more than 250 words in the abstract, 8 tables and/or illustrations, with no limited of references.
4. Case report: These manuscripts present discussion of a single case or a series of cases with important or unusual features not previously The manuscript of case report should contain the following sections: Introduction, Case report, Discussion, Acknowledgement, and References. The length should not exceed 2,500 words, with no more than 250 words in the abstract, 1 table, 4 illustrations and 15 references.

Manuscript Preparation

The manuscript text file should be prepared using Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)  with Times New Roman size 12, single-spaced spacing in standard A4 (21.2 x 29.7 cm) pages,cm margin on all four Pages should be numbered in succession, the title page being no.1. All texts and pictures arrangement should be in single-column format.    

• English manuscript should be in Times New Roman size 16 Bold for Title orHeading, size 14 Bold for subheading and author’s name and size 12 Regular for contents.
• Thai manuscript should be in TH SarabunPSK size 20 Bold for Heading, size 18 for Subheading and Author name, and size 16 for contents.
• Symbols should be in Mathtype format for all languages.
• Picture, figure and table should be in English.

The manuscript should should contain the following:

        1. Title page: Title of the article, names and affiliations of authors which are identified by superscripts in Arabic numerals, contact information of corresponding author (mailing address, tel/fax and email address) , abstract word count, total word count (abstract to acknowledgements), total number of tables/figures, number of references. The running title should be limited to 40 characters and contains a minimum of 5 keywords in alphabetical order.

        2. Abstract: With no more than 250 words, the abstract should contain the headings: “Background/ objectives”, “Materials and methods”, “Results”, and “Conclusion” for the respective Review articles and Case reports should have an unstructured abstract.

       3. Main manuscript

• Introduction: Contains the review of relevant literature, rationale and objective of the study.

        Abbreviation: Standard abbreviations may be used in your Authors are advised to keep abbreviation to a minimum, using them only when they are clearer than their long/full terminology. Terms should be written out in full upon first usage, in both the abstract and text, with the abbreviation following in parenthesis. After the first usage, the abbreviation must be used consistently. Plurals of abbreviations do not require apostrophes.

        Tables: Use when necessary and must be referred to in the Each table should be prepared on a separate page that follows the main text in the same file using word-processor table functions, with individual entries in individual table cells. They must not be supplied as tab- or space- separated text or as multiple entries separated by line breaks in single table cells. No vertical line or outside border should be included.          Combination Image: Minimum resolution: 800dpi; preferred file formats: PDF, EPS, PowerPoint, Illustrator. All figures should be prepared in the size intended for final production. The maximum width is 8.3 cm for 1-column figures and 17.35 cm for 2-column figures. The maximum height is 23.35 cm. For photomicrographs, the scale should be shown by a scale bar.

Copyright

          Authors must also attest that the manuscript is previously unpublished, not currently under consideration elsewhere and will not be submitted for publication elsewhere regardless of language and is submitted only to the Journal. Manuscripts under multiple publication policy are exempt from the said practice. Articles published in the Health Workforce Education Journal are copyrighted. No part of the articles may be copied, modified, reproduced or utilized in any form for any purposes without permission from the Journal. If excerpts from other copyrighted works are included, the Author(s) must obtain written permission from the copyright owners and credit the source(s) in the manuscript. All statements in, or omissions from, published manuscripts are the responsibility of the Authors, who will assist the editors by reviewing proofs before publication. The contents and opinions presented in the articles published in Health Workforce Education Journal do not reflect   the opinion shared by the Journal editorial board.

Permission and Waivers

          Permission of the copyright holders must be obtained in writing for the direct use of illustrations or tables previously published and under copyright (except for reference use). Written permission must be submitted to the editor before the manuscript can be published. Quotations must be written in quotation marks and references must be identified for      each quotation. Waivers must be obtained in writing while identifiable photograph of the persons and waivers must be presented to the editors.
