Sexual Function Instruments

Abstract

     Research studies related to sexual relationship such as sexual function, sexual dysfunction, sexual symptom or sexual education have been interested from the evidence of increased sexual research studies during the past 5 years. The selection of a proper, right and efficient instrument in diagnosis and evaluation of sexual function is needed. Therefore, the researcher needs to analyze and decide to choose the appropriate instrument to use in his/her study. The author presents 2 sexual function instruments which are usually used to measure sexual function in the patients such as international index of erectile function (IIEF) and scale for quality of sexual function (QSF). The quality of the instruments is included.

บทคัดย่อ

     การวิจัยเกี่ยวกับเพศสัมพันธ์ การทำหน้าที่ทางเพศ (sexual function) การทำหน้าที่ทางเพศที่ผิดปกติ (sexual dysfunction) อาการทางเพศ (sexual symptom) หรือการให้ความรู้ทางเพศ (sexual education) เป็นที่สนใจ ดังจะเห็นได้จากจำนวนงานวิจัยในฐานข้อมูลที่เพิ่มมากขึ้น การให้ความสนใจในการศึกษาวิจัยดังกล่าว จึงจำเป็นต้องเลือกใช้เครื่องมือที่มีความเหมาะสม ถูกต้อง และมีประสิทธิภาพในการวินิจฉัยและประเมินประสิทธิภาพการทำหน้าที่ทางเพศ ดังนั้น ผู้วิจัยจำเป็นต้องทำการวิเคราะห์และตัดสินใจเลือกเครื่องมือเพื่อใช้วัดการทำหน้าที่ทางเพศที่เหมาะสม เครื่องมือในการวัดการทำหน้าที่ทางเพศ 2 เครื่องมือ ที่มักนิยมใช้ในการวัดการทำหน้าที่ทางเพศในผู้ป่วย ได้แก่ แบบวัดดัชนีสากลของการทดสอบสมรรถภาพทางเพศ (International Index of Erectile Function: IIEF) และเครื่องมือวัดคุณภาพการทำหน้าที่ทางเพศ (Scale for Quality of Sexual Function: QSF) ซึ่งเป็นเครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการประเมินการทำหน้าที่ทางเพศจะได้นำเสนอ รวมทั้งการประเมินคุณภาพของเครื่องมือ
