The Harmfulness of Respiratory Syncytial Virus Infection in Young Children

Abstract

RSV infection is the most common cause of Lower Respiratory Tract Infection (LRI) in young children with leading to hospitalization. The younger age of RSV infectious case is the more clinical severity, especially in newborn 2 months to 2 years. The severity infection of LRI related to high rate of mortality. Promptly diagnosis and well treatment can safe life of young children from RSV infectious complication. The RSV can be spread out easily and quickly from human to human and no vaccination available now.   Hand washing before and after contacting newborn and avoid bringing them to the crowded place is the most important way to prevent the disease.
