Dog bite wound with complex repair: report of 3 cases

Abstract
The injury of facial area has many causes. One of these is dog bite that can cause many types of wound, such as abrasion, laceration or avulsion.
This three-case report described cases of patients with dog bite at area of forehead. The first case and the second case (2-year-old and 3-year-old boys respectively) had the avulsion wounds at forehead and scalp, the rotation flap and advancement flap were used to closure. The periosteum was incised to assist the primary closure of the flap. The third case (65-year-old female), the wound was located at forehead involving the eyebrow. The rotation flap and full thickness skin graft were used to prevent scar contraction. The follow-up of these cases showed successful treatment outcomes.
