Large ameloblastic fibro-odontoma of mandible: a case report

Abstract
Ameloblastic fibro-odontoma is rare benign odontogenic ectomesenchymal in origin. It generally occurs in young patient. The objective of this case report was to present the treatment procedure and follow-up on treatment results of 8 years-old boy patient who had ameloblastic fibro-odontoma affecting the mandible. This tumor led to bony expansion and facial asymmetry. The radiograph showed a mixed radiolucent and radiopaque surrounded by radiolucent rim. The treatment was complete removal of the lesion combined with curettage to prevent recurrence. After two years follow-up period, normal bone healing was revealed with no recurrence of the lesion.
