Abstract

The biomedical research involving human subjects is essential for scientific and therapeutic progress. However ethical consideration must be strictly taken in modern practice. 


The latest revision of World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki concerning Ethical Principle for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects, at 52nd WMA General Assembly, Edinburgh, Scotland, October 2000 has several significant changes. These will obviously have some impact on practice of biomedical research worldwide. It is of interest to all readers and contributors to the Thai Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology to pay an attention on the publication of the statement followed, particularly on paragraph 27, which states “Reports of experimentation not in accordance with the principles laid down in this Declaration should not be accepted for publication."
