Abstract
Intimate partner violence (IPV) is a major public health and human rights issue. It is not just a problem in the Thai community, women from every social, ethnic, educational and economic background are affected. There has been claimed that during times of high unemployment, domestic abuse increases. The lifetime prevalence of physical or sexual intimate partner violence (or both) in women who had ever had a partner ranged from 15% to 71%. The incidence data for intimate partner violence (IPV) in Thailand is still limited.
