Abstract

Cystic hygromas arising outside of the cervicofacial, thoracic and abdominal areas
are extremely rare. We report two fetuses that were found at 20 weeks of gestation to have
axillary cystic hygromas. Both had normal karyotype. Serial ultrasound showed progressive
enlargement of the lesions without other abnormalities. Both the women underwent caesarean
delivery and both neonates have undergone treatment as infants.
