แผ่นแปะ microneedle ชนิดละลาย (Dissolving Microneedle Patch): เทคโนโลยีแห่งอนาคต ในการรักษาริ้วรอยบริเวณหางตา

Abstract

ตั้งแต่ช่วงปี 2013 เป็นต้นมา ได้มีการทดสอบทางคลินิกที่ใช้ dissolving microneedle patch ที่ประกอบด้วยสารที่มีฤทธิ์ฟื้นฟูและชะลอวัยของผิวหนังหลายชนิดไม่ว่าจะเป็น retinyl retinoate6, ascorbic acid7, adenosine8-9, hyaluronic acid10 และ epidermal growth factor11 ผลจากการศึกษาในกลุ่มทดสอบพบว่าการใช้ dissolving microneedle patch ที่มีส่วนประกอบของสารต่างๆ ข้างต้นสามารถช่วยลดริ้วรอยบริเวณหางตาได้ ในงานตีพิมพ์จากประเทศเกาหลีใต้ Choi10 ได้ทำการศึกษาแบบสุ่มโดยการใช้ dissolving microneedle patch ด้วยสาร hyaluronic acid สำหรับรักษาริ้วรอยบริเวณหางตาเป็นเวลา 8 สัปดาห์ โดยใช้แผ่นแปะเปรียบเทียบกับกลุ่มที่ใช้สาร hyaluronic acid ชนิดทา พบว่าในกลุ่มแผ่นแปะมีริ้วรอยที่หางตาลดลงและมีความยืดหยุ่นของผิวหนังเพิ่มขึ้นจากการวัดด้วยเครื่องมือจำเพาะเมื่อเทียบกับกลุ่มที่รักษาด้วยสารชนิดทา แต่ทว่าจนถึงปัจจุบันยังมีการศึกษาจำนวนน้อยมากที่เป็นการทดลองแบบสุ่มและมีกลุ่มควบคุม (Randomized Controlled Trial) ทำให้หลักฐานเกี่ยวกับประสิทธิผลและความปลอดภัยยังมีอยู่น้อย อย่างไรก็ดี ด้วยข้อดีของ dissolving microneedle patch ดังที่กล่าวไปข้างต้น ทำให้เทคโนโลยีนี้เป็นที่จับตาเป็นอย่างมากในตลาดผลิตภัณฑ์ความงามและมีแนวโน้มที่มีการแข่งขันกันอย่างสูง ซึ่งขณะนี้บริษัทจากประเทศญี่ปุ่นได้นำ MicroHyala® ซึ่งเป็น dissolving microneedle patch สำหรับใช้ในการรักษาริ้วรอยออกมาสู่ท้องตลาดเป็นที่เรียบร้อยแล้วเป็นที่น่าสนใจว่าการใช้แผ่นแปะ microneedle จะสามารถนำมาใช้ประโยชน์ในการนำส่งเปปไทด์และโปรตีนที่มีโมเลกุลขนาดใหญ่ได้ ซึ่งสารเหล่านี้ได้ถูกนำมาใช้เพิ่มมากขึ้นสำหรับเป็นส่วนประกอบสำคัญของผลิตภัณฑ์รักษาริ้วรอยชนิดทา ในอนาคตอาจมีการนำสารโมเลกุลใหญ่ต่างๆ มาเป็นส่วนประกอบของ dissolving microneedle patch เพื่อเพิ่มทางเลือกในการฟื้นฟูและชะลอวัยแก่ผิวหนัง
