The development of Central Sterile Service for cancer patients in Udon Thani Cancer Hospital by private sector outsources

Abstract

This research aims to study the problem of a Central Sterile Service system of the Udon Thani Cancer Hospital, develop a Central Sterile Service for medical tools, trial and evaluation of the use of new Central Sterile Service system. The sample consisted of 135 personnel under the Cancer Hospital of Udon Thani. The instruments were the evaluation form for the Central Sterile Service system, medical tools, include 4 parts: 1) personal information, 2) performance evaluation, sterilization, patient tools, 3) assessment of satisfaction with the Central Sterile Service system and 4) survey problems obstacles and suggestions with CVI equal 0.98. Data were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation and content analysis.

The results showed as follows: 1) The problems of the Central Sterile Service system found that the manpower is not enough and lack of expertise in sterilizing special equipment. 2) Developing a Central Sterile Service system for cancer treatment tools by private sector outsources 3) trial and evaluation of Central Sterile Service by private sector outsources found that the operating score according to the standard is higher than the traditional service system
