Artificial Intelligence Policy

       

Guidelines for Authors, Reviewers and Editors

PRJNR requires complete transparency, human accountability, and adherence to scholarly and research standards regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI technologies. AI

tools cannot be listed as authors under any circumstances; therefore, generative AI must not be used to write any content.

Core Principles:

  • Human Accountability: Authors, reviewers, and editors hold a shared responsibility for the accuracy, validity, and ethical integrity of all content published in the Journal’s
  • No AI Authorship: Generative AI cannot meet accountability criteria and is strictly prohibited from being listed as an author or co-author.
  • Transparency: Any use of AI in drafting, language refinement, or data processing must be explicitly

 

 

Guidelines for Authors:

  • Permitted Uses: AI may be used to assist with copyediting, language polishing, translation, or broad structural idea
  • Prohibited Uses: AI must not be used to invent or interpolate raw data, fabricate citations or references, or other content, or generate scientific
  • Images and Visuals: AI tools must not be used to create or alter research or clinical images or other images, graphs, figures or charts in a way that misrepresents the original
  • Data Privacy s Confidentiality: Authors must not upload restricted, proprietary, or identifiable participant data into external or public AI
  • Mandatory Disclosure: Authors must include a clear statement in every submitted

manuscript under the heading Declaration of Use of AI in Scientific Writing, as described in the Author Guidelines. This statement must declare any AI tools that were used in a study or in the preparation of a manuscript, what version, and for what purpose.

 

Guidelines for Reviewers:

  • Confidentiality Breach: Reviewers are strictly prohibited from uploading unpublished manuscripts, figures, tables, or supplementary files to public or external generative AI
  • Independent Judgment: Review comments must be generated entirely through human scholarly AI must not be used to write or synthesize a reviewer’s substantive peer-review report.
  • Disclosure: If a reviewer uses minor AI assistance solely for grammatical formatting of their review text(s), it must be transparently declared to the

 

 

Guidelines for Editors

  • Preserving Confidentiality: Editorial staff must protect manuscript security and must never upload submitted papers, author details, or peer-review reports to external AI
  • Human Decision-Making: Editors must not use AI to replace critical scientific evaluation, rank manuscripts, pre-screen scientific validity, or make final acceptance/rejection
  • Oversight: All editorial correspondence and final publishing choices must reflect direct, human-led academic appraisal.
  • Proof Copy Integrity: Authors are warned that Editors may use minor AI assistance to ensure that manuscripts are grammatically correct before accepting them for However, using AI tools to develop manuscript content is strictly prohibited.
