Quality of Work Life Associated with Organization Commitment Among Health Personnel Practice in Thalang Hospital, Phuket Province

Abstract

              This descriptive research study aimed to study quality of work life associated with organizational commitment among health personnel practice in Thalang hospital, Phuket Province. Population was 295 health personnel which be worked at Thalang hospital, Phuket Province and the sample size calculating used Daniel formula for 201 cases, and systematic random sampling was determine. Data collected by questionnaires composed of; parts 1 characteristic, part 2 quality of work life, part 3 organizational commitments, and part 4 suggestion. In addition to, validity was checked by 3 experts and try out testing reliability by cronbach’s coefficient alpha about 0.96, an association analysis used Pearson product moment correlation coefficient. The result showed that quality of work life factors including, adequate and fair compensation, safe and healthy environment, development of human capacities, growth and security, social integration, constitution, the total life space, and social relevance had mean score with high level (X = 2.24, S.D.= 0.46). Moreover, organizational commitment including, the confidence and acceptance through an organization goals and values, the willingness to use their best efforts to work for the benefit of organization, the strong desire to retain its membership in an organization had mean score with high level (X=2.53, S.D.=0.51). An association analyzed found that quality of work life factors was associated with organizational commitment among health personnel practice in Thalang hospital, Phuket Province with statistic significant (r=0.513, p-value<0.001)
