Abstract

Gram negative bacilli especially Enterobacteriaceae are most important problem in medical and surgical patient. Susceptibility of antibiotic Enterobacteriaceae is significantly decreased. Most study demonstrated Beta-lactamase producing Enterobacteriaceae in patient with intraabdominal infection. We determined the prevalence and susceptibility pattern of specimens of ESBL-producing Enterobacteriaceae. We enrolled the patients who had indication for surgery in patients with acute community acquired intraabdominal infectection.Demographic data, history of illness, laboratory data and antibiotic use was recorded. We performed bacterial culture and identified ESBLs production by disk diffusion test.
