Comparison of knowledge of the promotion of mental health for the cooperating teachers

Abstract

The cooperating teachers of the special education center not only act as the developing activator to the special children, but also advice the caring for their chidren’s caregivers. All cooperating teachers encountered the physical and mental health due to caring too long times. The aim of this research was to compare the knowledge of the promotion of mental health for the cooperating teachers before and after attend the training. The thirty-three cooperating teachers were collected from the regional special education center 5, Suphanburi province. The data was analyzed using the basically statistics, such as mean, standard deviation, frequency, percentage and independent t-test. The promotion of mental health for the cooperating teachers was also performed through the activity as following, Yoga for stress relaxation, laugh relaxation, basic mental health discovery, and mental health promotion. The results revealed that afer receiving the mental helath promotion activities, the experimental group has also significantly higher mean value of knowledge than before receiving the activites (p<.001). The satisfication toward the training was to be vary good level ( = 4.53, SD=0.56) and the satisfication toward the trainners was to be vary good level ( = 4.63, SD=0.52) .

The result of this research can be used the guideline for the development of curriculum for the promotion of mental health for the cooperating teachers, leading to activity for the promotion of mental holistic health in the special children.
