Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) to develop a set of Digital English Learning Package for early childhood learners in Child Development Centers in Khon San District, Chaiyaphum Province, and 2) to examine the English proficiency of early childhood learners after learning through Digital English Learning Package. A mixed-methods design was employed both research and development (R&D) and a quasi-experimental approach. The participants comprised 100 male and female early childhood learners, aged between 2 and 4 years, who were enrolled in Child Development Centers in Khon San District, Chaiyaphum Province. The sample was selected using multistage random sampling. Research instruments included an evaluation form for the Digital English Learning Package, the Digital English Learning Package, and an English proficiency test. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and paired-samples t-test.
         The findings revealed that:
         1) The expert’s evaluations indicated that the Digital English Learning Package were achieved the most appropriate (M= 4.57, SD = 0.57), and
          2) The learners’ English proficiency scores the post-test were significantly higher than pre-test scores at the .05 level of significance.
In conclusion, the Digital English Learning Package was highly appropriate for the developmental stage and learning context of early childhood learners. Moreover, the Digital English Learning Package was effective in fostering fundamental English language skills. The results of this study provide empirical evidence supporting the integration of digital instructional media in early childhood education and offer valuable insights for the future development of technology-based instructional innovations.
