Abstract

Objective: To describe the new innovative system for effective specimen retrieval and reducing cost of laparoscopic surgery.
Methods: The procedures compared with two models, a current used specimen retrieval bag versus the specimen retrieval bag to thread with circular stainless steel and nylon. We focused for the effectiveness handing of the device and the cost. The operations had been randomized by a computer then followed in laparoscopic-training box. The time of operations and satisfactions of the specimen retrieval bag were compared.
Results: The average time of using innovative specimen retrieval system is less than a minute, which was significant different than a current specimen retrieval bag. The costs of the retrieval bag less than a hundred baths, which is less expensive than the current specimen retrieval systems. The bag had good laparoscopic visibility, satisfactions and easily handles for surgeons. The organ entrapment system is less requires experience learning.
Conclusions: An ideal specimen retrieval system is inventing, with simple to use, lowest cost, good visibility, need minimal number of ports and highly durability. The special bag design with metallic rims is the key to maintain opening during entrapment.
