SAFETY BEHAVIORS OF RAJABHAT RAJANAGARINDRA UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN RIDING MOTORCYCLES

Abstract
The purposes of this research were to (1) examine the safety behaviors of students at Rajabhat Rajanagarindra University in riding motorcycles; and (2) compare knowledge factors concerning land traffic regulations and safety behaviors of the students in riding motorcycles. The samples consisted of 327 first-to-fourth year students in the bachelor’s degree in the Faculty of Education at Rajabhat Rajanagarindra University, in the first semester of the academic year 2016. The research instrument was a questionnaire constructed by the researcher. Using techniques of descriptive statistics, the researcher analyzed the data in terms of percentage, frequency, mean ( ), and standard deviation (S.D.). Moreover, the differences between two groups of variables were tested using the independent sample t-test. Furthermore, the differences among three groups of variables were tested by one-way analysis of variance [ANOVA]).
Findings revealed as follows:
- Significant differences of safety behaviors in riding motorcycles were found in different genders and years of study at the level of 0.05.
- No significant differences of safety behaviors in riding motorcycles were found in different motorcycle riding experience and number of accidants at the level of 0.05.
- Significant differences of safety behaviors in riding motorcycles were found in different knowledge about land traffic regulations at the level of 0.05.
