THE LESSON ON SELF DEFENSE WITH AIKIDO BASED ON SIMPSONS PRACTICE SKILL DEVELOPMENT APPROACH

Abstract
This research was conducted in an experimental research. The objective of this study was to study the learning achievement from the lesson about Aikido martial arts. The concept of Simpson's practical skills development was used for students in grade 6 to meet the 75/75 criteria in 1st semester, academic year 2017 by purposive selection method. It takes 12 hours for the experiment. The constructed lessons; the Aikido ability test during study and the achievement test were used as the tools of this study.
Aikido martial arts lesson were divided into 4 plans as follows. Learning Management Plan 1: Basic knowledge and preparation to learn martial arts, the training of falling and foot movement in Tegung Ho, Learning Management Plan 2: Self-defense front attack, Learning Management Plan 3: Self-defense attacking in the back, Learning Management Plan 4 Self-defense being seated.
The mean scores of quality assessment form for Aikido martial arts lessons were found at 4.58 rated in five scales by a panel of five experts. The quality of lesson contents for grand 6 students was found at a highest level and appropriate for learning. The IOC of Aikido ability test during study and learning achievement test was found at 1.00 in every item. The data analysis was conducted in mean, standard deviation and t-test. The findings revealed that the efficiency of grade 6 students’ self-defense ability during study and after study was found at 74/84 which met the set standard, and their learning achievement after study was highier than that during study.
