PROBLEMS, NEEDS AND GUIDELINES OF SPORTS ACTIVITY MANAGEMENT FOR STUDENTS AT PRINCE OF SONGKLA UNIVERSITY, PATTANI CAMPUS

Abstract
This research aimed to study problems and guidelines for supporting sports activities for students at Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus. The sample group of qualitative research was acquired by purposefully selected 20 participants, including the executive management team, academic staff, and the presidents of sports club in the university with deriving the data from employing in-depth interviews. With the quantitative research method, the data were obtained by collecting questionnaires from 400 students using the stratified random sampling. The data were analyzed by the statistical analysis using Mean ( ) and Standard Deviation (S.D.) and the content analysis.
The results were clarified that the problems of sports activities facilitating students at Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus were at the moderate level in the overall aspects. In each aspect, the mean of Human Resource, Financial Support, Places and Equipment, and Management were revealed at 3.06 (S.D. =1.18), 3.04 (S.D. =1.12), 3.17 (S.D. =1.06), and 3.24 (S.D. = 1.07) respectively. Moreover, the results of guidelines for supporting sports activities for students at Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus were as follows: 1) In Human Resource aspect, staff who are responsible for sports activities should be provided with study visits regularly, the number of staff should be surveyed appropriately to meet its needs sufficiently, and professional staff should be arranged appropriately with its positions. 2) In Financial aspect, the budget should be more promoted sufficiently to serve with relevant activities. The public and private sectors and alumni associations should be the related parts to support for this aspect. Also, the clear budget plans, the budget allocation for urgent cases, and more budget from other various holding activities should be promoted. 3) In Places and Equipment aspect, there should be enough facilities and equipment to keep up-to-date by creating manuals for the use of facilities and equipment to repair equipment so that it can be well-used, and the budget should be allocated for purchasing each type of necessary equipment. 4) In Management aspect, there should be feasible plans for operations. The sports activities in the university and collaboratively regular meetings should be increasingly supported. Besides, public relations for participants in sports events should facilitate them to have the right understanding and the activities should be held at the right time.
