Main Article Content
Abstract
In this study, the researcher (1) examined the health promotion behaviors of staff members at Bangpakok 1 Hospital; (2) compared the health promotion behaviors of sex age level of study income and harboring congenital diseases of the staff members under study; and (3) investigated the relationships between these health promotion of behaviors and the factor of health perception on the part of these staff members. The samples consisted of 244 staff members employed at Bangpakok 1 Hospital. Utilizing techniques of descriptive statistics, the researcher analyzed the data in terms of percentage, mean, and standard deviation. A t-test technique was used in analyzing the differences between two groups of variables. In testing differences between three groups of variables, the researcher employed the F- test (one-way analysis of variance [ANOVA]). In further testing, the researcher also utilized Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient (PPMCC) method. Statistical significance was set at the .05 level.
Findings were as follows:
- The staff members exhibited health promotion behaviors at a moderate level.
- The staff members who differed in harboring congenital diseases evinced concomitant differences in their health promotion behaviors at the statistically significant level of .05.
- The factors of perception of health held by the staff member’s perception of the benefits of health promotion behaviors; perception of obstacles to health promotion behaviors; and perception of health conditions were found to be positively correlated with health promotion behaviors at the statistically significant level of .05.
