DEVELOPING GUIDELINE FOR DEPLOYING ACTIVE LEARNING IN BASKETBALL COURSE

Abstract
The purposes of this study were to examine the active learning factors for basketball teaching, to develop a guideline for basketball teaching methods following active learning, and to investigate the result of developing guideline for deploying active learning in basketball. Subjects were purposively randomized from 60 students in Mattayomseuksa 5 from Saensuk School, Chon Buri. They were divided into the experimental groups of 30 and the control of 30. Basketball lesson plan following active learning and evaluation form were used as study tools. The statistical methods for analyzing the data were mean, standard deviation and t-test (Dependent and independent-test).
The findings revealed as the following 1.The mean score of dribbling skill in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group at the significant difference level of .05, but no significant difference of passing and shooting skills was found in both groups at the level of .05. 2. The mean score of essential performance (21st century skill) in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group at the significant difference level of .05 in 12 aspects consisting 1) creative thinking, 2) critical thinking and problem-solving, 3) exchanging ideas and cooperation, 4) knowledge and information, 5) knowledge and useful information from the media communication, 6) knowledge and information from technology, 7) adaptation skill, 8) self-expression and individualization, 9) social skill, 10) creativity for developing knowledge, 11) reliability and responsibility, 12) leadership and accountability. Regarding the result of developing guideline for deploying active learning in basketball, it was found at a highest level in the experimental group while in the control group it was found at a high level
