THE STATE AND PROBLEMS WITH STUDYING MANAGEMENT OF TEACHING HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN THE DEMONSTRATION SCHOOL IN GOVERNMENT ACCORDING TO OPINION OF UPPER HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND TEACHERS. MASTER THESIS

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine the state and problems with studying management of teaching health and physical education in the demonstration school in government according to the opinion of upper high school teachers and students. The subjects were 42 physical education teachers of demonstration school in government in Bangkok obtained by Purposive Sampling and the samples were 360 upper high school students studying in Mathayomsuksa 5 and 6 obtained by Multi-Stage Sampling. The research instruments used to collect data were observation, interviews of the head of the department’s opinions, and questionnaire on the state and problems with studying management of teaching health and physical education in the demonstration school in government. The reliability of questionnaire is 0.96. The data of the research was analyzed by frequency (f), percentage (%), mean (x̄), and standard deviation (S.D.).

The results of the research were as follows:

          Teachers had responsibilities besides teaching in school; therefore, it affected their teaching. Moreover, many students mainly focused more on academic than practice. For teaching method, teachers well prepared contents and sports equipment in teaching Physical Education course and the assessment in the subject was in line with the objectives. However, places in the school for teaching was limited.

          The average of the problems with studying management of teaching health and physical education in the demonstration school in government according to the opinion of teachers and students was totally at a low level.
