A STUDY OF THAILAND NATIONAL SPORTS UNIVERSITY’S SHOOTING TEAM MANAGEMENT PARTICIPATING IN 45TH THAILAND UNIVERSITY GAMES

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study factors relating to the management of shooting sports teams of Thailand National Sports University, in the 45th Thailand University Games. This research was conducted in a quantitative design. Questionnaire was applied as a tool for this research, the quality of the tool was examined by five experts by finding content validity using Index of Item Objective Congruence (IOC) (gif.latex?\bar{x} = 0.81), and using Cronbach’s method to find reliability (gif.latex?\bar{x} = 0.98). Then trial and improvement of the tools were adapted before collecting the actual data. The samples in this research were selected for specific purposes: 1 team manager, 4 coaches, and 29 athletes from Thailand National Sports University, which were 34 people in total. The data were analyzed by percentage, mean, standard deviation (S.D.), and Content Analysis.


  1. The resources of management was rated at a good level in overall (gif.latex?\bar{x} = 2.67), the perception of team manager, coaches, and shooters toward personnel section was rated at a good level (gif.latex?\bar{x} = 3.29), general management was rated at a good level (gif.latex?\bar{x} = 2.94), place, instrument, and facilities were rated at a good level (gif.latex?\bar{x} = 2.90), and financial and budget was rated at a medium level (gif.latex?\bar{x}  = 1.55).

  2. Management processes overall was rated at a good level (gif.latex?\bar{x} = 2.74), the perception of team manager, coaches, and shooters toward personnel section toward evaluation was rated at a good level (gif.latex?\bar{x} = 2.91), planning was rated at a good level (gif.latex?\bar{x} = 2.83), organization management was rated at a good level (gif.latex?\bar{x} = 2.63), and guidance was rated at a good level (gif.latex?\bar{x} = 2.57).

3. There should be a study of the difference on factors affecting the success of Thailand National Sports University shooting athletes participating in Thailand National Sports University Games and the Thailand University Games. There should be also a study on the factors affecting the success of athletes from other universities in both of public and private universities that has been fully supported, to figure out the way of operation.
