Health Tourism Management of Raikongking Village at Hangdong District of Chiangmai Province

Abstract

The objective of this mixed methods research was :-1) to study context and activities of health tourism resources at Raikongking. Village; and 2) to examine health tourism management of Raikongking Village at Hangdong Districtof Chiangmai Province. Onehundred and fifty samples were selected by purposive sampling from community leaders, villagers and tourists. The research instruments were questionnaire, interview and focus groups. Data were analyzed by using percentage, mean, standard deviation, and descriptive explain.

Findings were found that:-
1. The activities of Raikongking Village that promoted health tourism were bicycle for sightseeing,Yum Khang massage, health service center, agricultural leisure, Kantok-Lanna dinner, lacal traditional show, home stay, and learning-based villager lifestyle.
 2. Theoverallofhealthtourism management (six areas) was inhighlevel ( = 2.74). Considering in each item, the area of facility (room services, clean toilets, and souvenir shops) was in the highest level; the areas of attractive tourists (public relations and keep clean in tourist resources), organized tourist programming (tourist guideand contributed brochure of attractive places), and tourist activities (promoting health and special events) were in high level; and the areas of access to tourist resources (obviously route signs) and extra service in tourist resource (standard utility services and keep safety in the tourist area) were in the low level.
