MANAGEMENT GUIDELINES FOR TAEKWONDO SCHOOLS IN THAILAND

Abstract

The objective of this mixed method research was to study the management of teaching taekwondo schools in Thailand and present the guidelines for managing taekwondo schools in Thailand. The data were collected using questionnaires from a sample of 200 administrators and trainers of the Taekwondo Sport School, which was obtained randomly by means of Taro Yamane. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics including percentage, mean and standard deviation. The analysis results were presented in the form of collation and composition tables.


The results of the study revealed that the management of taekwondo schools in Thailand consisted of 5 aspects, with the overall average at the highest level (Mean = 4.94, S.D. = 0.11). When considering each aspect, it was found that the administrators and trainers were professional at the highest level (Mean = 4.97, S.D. = 0.05). The students’ skills were found at the highest level (Mean = 4.96, S.D. = 0.07); equipment and teaching materials at the highest level (Mean = 4.94, S.D. = 0.11) curriculum and vision at the highest level (Mean = 4.91, S.D. = 0.14); location of teaching and learning at the highest level (Mean = 4.91, S.D. = 0.17). Management guidelines for Taekwondo Schools, consisting of 3M, sorted in order of importance: the first aspect was Material; the second was Man; and the third was Management.
