EFFECT COMPARISON OF STATE ANXIETY OF TABLE TENNIS PLAYERS IN YOUTH PLAYERS

Abstract

The objectives of the study was to compare between anxiety according to the situation of table tennis players’ situation in qualifying round of Bueng Kan Games; the 33rd National Youth Games. The population in the study was table tennis players who joined the competition which were 151 players from 20 provinces. The samples consisted of 120 table tennis players selected by Taro Yamane formula. The simple sampling was also done by taking players’ name lists from registration groups and specifying only 6 players from each province.


The total number of the sample group was 120 people. Competitive state anxiety inventory – 2 (CSAI-2R) was used as an instrument and the data were analyzed by using average, standard deviation, t - test independence. The result explored as follows: 1. Competitive states anxiety of athletes classified by genders in 3 areas including of physical anxiety, mental anxiety, and self - confidence were found that in both male and female, the state of physical anxiety was low, while mental anxiety and self-confidence were moderate, 2. The comparison between competitive states anxiety in physical, mental, and self-confidence classified by genders were found that in physical anxiety was significantly different at the .05 level. But there were no statistically significant differences in mental anxiety and self-confidence.
