DESIGN OF SPORTING APTITUDE TEST FOR CHILDREN FROM 5 - 6 YEARS OLD

Abstract
The purpose of this research was to design a sporting aptitude test for children from
5 - 6 years old. Participants were 105 Early Childhood children, aged 5 - 6 years old, studying at the Demonstration School of Phuket Rajabhat University. The instrument employed in the research was Sporting Aptitude Test (SAT) for children aged 5 - 6 years old designed by the researcher. The test consisted of 5 items: 1) heel tap jump (1 time), 2) jump half turn to the left (1 time), 3) jump with eyes closed on one leg to the back, 4) crossed leg sit to stand, and 5) squat jump with arm swing (5 times). The content validity of the SAT was .78 - 1, the reliability was .72 - .83, and the objectivity was .69 - .81. In addition, the findings revealed that the SAT had normal criteria: 13 and over referred to “Excellent”, 10 - 12 referred to “good”, 7 - 8 referred to “average”, and 4 - 6 referred to “poor”.
