อิทธิพลศิลปะเซอร์เรียลิสม์ (Surrealism) ที่ปรากฏในการกำกับศิลป์ของมิเชล กอนดรี้ ในภาพยนตร์เรื่อง The Science of Sleep

Abstract

            มิเชล กอนดรี้เป็นหนึ่งในผู้กำกับภาพยนตร์ที่มีอิทธิพลต่อวงการศิลปะในปัจจุบันเป็นอย่างสูง งานของเขามักจะตั้งคำถามต่อสภาวะความเป็นจริงในชีวิตประจำวันและความทรงจำที่มีผลต่อตัวตนของบุคคลหนึ่งๆ ประเด็นสำคัญเหล่านี้ถูกถ่ายทอดออกมาผ่านบทภาพยนตร์ วิธีการกำกับไปจนกระทั่งงานกำกับศิลป์ อันส่งผลให้ผลงานภาพยนตร์ของเขาเป็นหนึ่งในงานที่มีผู้ติดตามชมและได้รับการศึกษาในส่วนของทฤษฎีภาพยนตร์

            งานวิจัยนี้มุ่งวิเคราะห์วิธีการกำกับศิลป์ของมิเชล กอนดรี้ผ่านภาพยนตร์ทั้งสิ้นสี่เรื่องจากค.ศ. 2001 - ค.ศ. 2013 ผลการวิจัยพบว่าภาพยนตร์ของผู้กำกับท่านนี้มีแนวคิดและรูปแบบที่สอดคล้องกับผลงานศิลปะแนวเซอร์เรียลลิสม์ของศิลปินเช่นซาลวาดอร์ ดาลีและเรเน่ มากริตต์ ทั้งในแง่ของการนำความจริงมาบิดเบือนด้วยวิธีต่างๆและการนำเสนอในรูปแบบของความฝัน

           Michel Gondry is one of the most influenced movie director in the present day. His works are always focusing on questioning about daily life reality and identity through memory of each individual. These themes have been reiterated through the script, film direction and most of all art direction in his films. Among directors in the western film industry, his works are ones that having been studied in film and art school throughout the world.

            This research aimed to analyze Michel Gondry’s art direction in 4 films which produced from 2001-2013 The result founded that his works showed similar conception and style with 1920’s surrealism artists such as Salvador Dali and Rene Magritte. These similar methods are means of form and reality distortion and dream representation.
