SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT AND HOUSING FOR THE ELDERLY: INTEGRATIVE LITERATURE REVIEW

Thailand is required to be well prepared to address the population shift into “aging society”. To effected changing the population, structure family, render dependence of the elderly increases, and the number of children significantly declines. Problems and needs of the elderlyare complex. All evidences from the deterioration of aging, emergencies, diseases and illnesses caused by the elderly. Providing a living space that is conducive to the health and well-being of the elderly. Therefore, the important must be aware of the quality of physical and social accommodation. Including the relationship of people in society, social networks must also consider cultural consistency, ideas, believes, religions, residential areas which have many differences in service providers must be aware of the design the resident area that is conducive to elderly health. Integrated literature review, housing arrangements that are conducive to elderly health and then find a conclusion, choose a total of 21 articles. Performing data extraction analyzed and synthetic get the elements of living space that is conducive to the elderly in 3 parts. Namely, (1) environmental management that is conducive to health contain with physical of the house or residence conditions inside , outside, and the community (2) Health outcomes from housing arrangements for seniors which consists of health outcomes for themselves, such as cleanliness, peace of mind, mental well-being in life and stability in life family level is safety in life and property and community level causing environmental and social impacts (3) Health status of the elderly related to housing arrangements which is the basis of housing operations. This studyrelated to characteristics of physical, social characteristics and quality of life of the elderly but did not explain the concrete level of qualitative data That presents the characteristics of quality of life and do not separate health status at each level clearly.
