A RETROSPECTIVE REVIEW OF PHACOMORPHIC/PHACOLYTIC GLAUCOMA IN SISAKET HOSPITALBETWEEN 2014 - 2018

Abstract

This study is a retrospective study about patient with Phocomorphic and Phacolytic that had been operated at SisaketHospital during 2014-2018. The data base were reviewed, Age of patients, sex, type of surgery, pre-operative and post-operative visual acuity (VA) has been reviewed. The data basewere analyzed by percentage. The pre-operative and post-operative were analyzed by mean.Theresults ofthe study show that 282 patients, Phocomorphic glaucoma 218 patients and Phacolytic glaucoma 64 patients which 60.28 percents are female and 40.78 percents are 70-79 years old, had been operated by the Extra capsularcataractextraction(ECCE) for 142 patients (50.35%), Phacoemulsification112 patients (39.71%) and intracapsular cataract extraction (ICCE) 28 patients (9.92%).Preoperative with Hand motion(HM), and Good Light perception (PL) are 161 patients (57.09%), finger counting ( FC1/2 m.) 15 patients (5.32%).For 1 week post operation, 51.42% are VA 6/60 or better, 11.11% are VA 6/60 or lesser and 27.78% are VA 3/60 or lesser. After follow up for 1 month, 70.83% have VA 6/60 or better, 6.94% are VA6/60 or lesser and 22.22% are VA 3/60 or lesser. Average of pre-operative ocular pressure is 31.27 mmHg, after follow up 1 week and 1 month average post-operative ocular pressure are decrease to 12.98 mmHg and 12.42 mmHg. Patients with Phocomorphic and Phacolytic glaucoma that had been early detect, appropriated time of operation and treatment seems to have better results and decrease risk of complications such as retinalartery occlusion, severe glaucomaand corneal decompensation.
